Rolling Disclaimers

We are on a roll with disclaimers, so from here on out we will be releasing two eligible network sites every week. There will no longer be individual announcements on our blog, but we will briefly mention which sites are getting the feature in the weekly newsletter. Remedy Grove and Bellatory are being updated today (and this is their announcement).

Also, on account of the holidays, there will be a *very* brief pause in December. But rest assured, all eligible sites will be getting their own disclaimer with the following language, if pertinent to the content:

  • Medical-Professional

“This content is for informational purposes only and does not substitute for formal and individualized diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, prescription, and/or dietary advice from a licensed medical professional. Do not stop or alter your current course of treatment. If pregnant or nursing, consult with a qualified provider on an individual basis. Seek immediate help if you are experiencing a medical emergency.”

  • Medical

“This content is accurate and true to the best of the author’s knowledge and does not substitute for diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, prescription, and/or dietary advice from a licensed health professional. Drugs, supplements, and natural remedies may have dangerous side effects. If pregnant or nursing, consult with a qualified provider on an individual basis. Seek immediate help if you are experiencing a medical emergency.

  • Financial-Legal-Technical-Services

“This article is accurate and true to the best of the author’s knowledge. Content is for informational or entertainment purposes only and does not substitute for personal counsel or professional advice in business, financial, legal, or technical matters.”

As always, reach out to us if you have any questions regarding disclaimers. We hope that with finalizing this feature, it will create a feeling of trust and security in our readers. This should make your job as an author easier, so you can focus on doing what you do best, writing.

Get Amped for AMP

Screen Shot 2018-11-15 at 8.41.18 AM.pngGreat news! Our initial AMP page tests (announced by Paul Edmondson a while back) went very well. The Amazon changes required in order to test on a wider range of pages were successfully executed. We will begin testing AMP via eligible articles on TatRing today.

Initially, author Google Analytics will not be included on AMP pages to comply with European GDPR regulations. So don’t be alarmed if your personal Google Analytics shows a decrease in traffic. We are working on a solution, as always!

What is AMP and why should I care?

You can read more about it on the AMP Project website, but basically, AMP articles load faster, which is a better experience for readers. Faster load times help reduce bounce rates and increase ad impressions.

Will any other sites have AMP pages?

Soon enough, but right now we are only testing on eligible TatRing articles.

Why isn’t HP Staff testing on all TatRing articles? What does “eligible” mean?

About 70% of articles on TatRing will be eligible. That 30% is composed of certain capsules and layouts do not mesh well with AMP.

At the moment, these things make articles ineligible for AMP:

  • Code Capsules
  • Map Capsules
  • Quiz Capsules
  • Ratings Capsules
  • Users with external Amazon accounts (users who participate in the HubPages Amazon Program are still eligible)
  • Users who earn from AdSense only

If you have articles on TatRing and want them to become eligible for the test, you are welcome to change/remove the things listed above, as long as the content still makes sense.

We will continue to keep everyone updated as we expand this feature, but don’t hesitate to reach out if you are curious/confused about anything.

There’s Some New Ink on TatRing

TatRing Cover

We are happy to announce that TatRing is the next site to receive our brand-new disclaimer feature. This will differ slightly from the PetHelpful disclaimer, as it will be category-specific to cover as much YMYL content as possible and exclude benign content.

This disclaimer will only be visible to signed-in users until the official release date next Wednesday, November 21st, and can be individually disabled in the HubTool. This is a general disclaimer, meant to encompass the variety of topics on TatRing — we know that not all topics are YMYL, and so not every article will need such a feature. Therefore, alongside authors, editors will have the ability to turn them off accordingly over time.

We encourage the use of this tool in lieu of author-created, in-text disclaimers across our Network Site to promote cohesive and intelligible content across all articles. We hope to spread awareness and satisfy our community’s authors, readers and visitors. An example of said disclaimer, and what categories will be affected, can be seen below:

“This content is accurate and true to the best of the author’s knowledge and is not meant to substitute for formal and individualized advice from a qualified professional.”

Make Way for HealthProAdvice (And Patient’sLounge…And YouMeMindBody)

The Newest Network Site(s) on the Block…

We are excited to introduce the newest addition to the HubPages family, “” This network site is a way for the HealDove community to share and promote health with the most relevant, high-quality information available. Curated to contain articles written and/or reviewed by real medical professionals, this site will become a valuable resource that will also *hopefully* result in higher, more sustainable traffic.

With making Google happy being a big part of the motivation, we will also be launching two other new sites that branch off of HealDove, with a goal of aligning more closely with the Google search rater recommendations on YMYL content. “Patient’” will be for patient experiences with medical conditions, otherwise known as “everyday expertise,” and the name “HealDove” will be retired when “” launches to take its place.

Look forward to wellness and improve your overall well-being with these great new features!
