The polls are officially open for the 8th Annual HubPages Hubbie Awards! You have two weeks to submit your vote, so no need to scramble!

The Prizes:

Winners in each category will receive a swanky limited edition water bottle with the HubPages logo, as well as an official HubPages ringer. These highly coveted items will be worth millions on eBay someday. If a Hubber wins more than one category, he or she will receive a water bottle for each category won (though we do love to see as many deserving Hubbers win as possible, so please do your best to diversify your votes).

The Rules:

Before you cast your vote, there are a few ground rules to keep in mind. Each Hubber may only vote once, so make sure you’ve got your list of nominees ready to go. Nominations submitted after November 14th at midnight will not be counted. If you don’t have a Hubber or article to nominate for every single category, it’s ok to leave spaces blank. When you’re ready, you can visit the Official 2018 Hubbie Voting Form, or if you need more time to consider your vote, you can always browse the categories before making up your mind.

2018 Hubbie Categories:

  1. Best All-Around Article
  2. Best All-Around User
  3. HubPages Lifetime Achievement (staff picked)
  4. Most Helpful User
  5. Rookie of the Year
  6. Most Likely to be a HubPages Employee
  7. Funniest User
  8. User Most Likely to be Banned
  9. Biggest Grammar Snob
  10. Loudest Voice in the Forum
  11. User with Most Obscure Knowledge
  12. Most Trusted User

If you’re ready to cast your vote now, proceed to the Official 2018 Hubbie Voting Form. Remember, you can only vote once, so take your time to decide which articles and users you’d like to nominate.

Happy voting!

A Very (Pet) Helpful New Feature

Screen Shot 2018-10-11 at 5.09.45 PM

This month, we are excited to pull the curtain on one of our latest features: a PetHelpful-specific disclaimer for “Your Money Your Life” (YMYL) content. YMYL content is held to high editorial standards due to its ability to impact the current and future well-being of people, as well as the animals they care for or interact with.

To keep with these high standards, we have streamlined a user-friendly disclaimer which authors can access in the HubTool. This disclaimer will only be visible to signed-in users before the general release date, and can be individually disabled in the HubTool by authors. We realize not every article will need such a feature, and editors will turn them off accordingly over time. Authors may also choose to disable the disclaimer on non-YMYL articles before it goes public on October 31st, 2018. PetHelpful is just the first site to have this feature, and other sites will likely follow. We’ll keep you posted!

We encourage the use of this tool in lieu of author-created in-text disclaimers across our Network Site for future YMYL articles in order to keep articles cohesive and intelligible, while assuring that our community’s authors, readers, and visitors are in good hands.

Thanks for tuning in, and we hope you have a Spooktacular October!
