With all the buzz going around social media and how websites are using Facebook connect and Twitter to help their users be more pro-active and social, we here at Hubpages HQ decided to jump on the bandwagon.

So we’re glad to announce a subset of Facebook connect and Twitter functionality integration into your Hubpages hubs (see screenshot below). Now authors can log into their Facebook account after having published a hub from within Hubpages and distribute it to their friends and family on Facebook. With a click of button, it’ll get posted to the Facebook feed. What this means for our authors is another medium for them to distribute their content through the social vine which in turn means more eye-balls for their hubs.

We’ve implemented a similar functionality for twitter. So now anybody can tweet a link to a Hub to their followers on twitter. All you do is click on the link, sign in as usual and post your tweet. We’ve taken care of URL shortening, so you don’t need to do anything other that going tweet crazy!

As always we’d love to hear from all you great hubbers – so feel free to let us know what you like or dislike about this new feature.

  1. There is nothing I dislike about this new feature or any other feature, it is great to see how far hubpages has come and prepared to go to keep up with other sites.

All we need now is a feature to download a free beer everytime we publish a hubpage article

  2. I’ve already friended/grouped/noticed both! It will definitely help to increase traffic and HubPages know. There’s a lot of really good info on HubPages that needs to be read (that’s not being found by Search Engines) and integrating social media into an already great & easy social writer/reader site is even smarter. What will the HubPages team think of next? I don’t know, but based on their track record, it’ll be good…

  3. Where does this show up? Is it only when you publish a new hub? What if you rework an old hub that you never tweeted about before and want to “tweet” or retweet it? And why doesn’t hub pages follow me on twitter (tixrus) ?

  4. I ahve heard about twitting and face book..I have account on both but dont know how to twit and how hubs ll be added in to Adsence.
    plz reply….

  5. I would love to see this wonderful feature show up when I have edited a hub also! It would be great to let all my followers know that i have updated the information. Also, it would be great if that shortened URL was kept someplace where it was easy to find to further promote the hub long after it has been first published!

  6. Ya its a good idea and it is very useful for the users because here after they just click these icon to add face book and twitter without adding separately.
