Hot Topics for April, May, and June

The Google AdSense Team has kindly shared some great info with us on monetizing trends this coming quarter (April through June), and I’m pleased to pass it along to you. Historically, advertisers have increased spending in specific topics during Quarter 2, and the AdSense Team expects that trend to continue this year. So, if you’re stumped for ideas on what to write about next, you may want to consider tackling one of these subjects, which will likely have higher CPMs:

Health

  • Allergies

Home

  • Gardening and home improvement
  • Moving
  • Home insurance and mortgages

Fashion and Beauty

  • Wedding fashion
  • Spring and summer fashion

Gender and Relationships

  • Wedding tips and wedding planning

Sports

  • Camping and outdoors
  • Major League Baseball
  • National Hockey League
  • National Basketball Association

Travel

  • Summer vacations and vacation planning

Holiday

  • Mother’s Day
  • Father’s Day
  • Graduation

Entertainment

  • Summer blockbusters
  • Summer TV

Along with expected higher CPMs, these subjects have the added benefit of being more shareable on social media. Since users will be searching for these topics more often this quarter, they are also more likely to share related Hubs with great photos and inspiring content. It’s not too early to get a head start either. Searches and sharing of seasonal content often begin a month or more in advance, so get your Hubs ready early. Happy Hubbing!
