Heads Up! We’re Going Wide!

In a couple of days, we’ll be rolling out the first in a series of design updates on HubPages by widening the site.  The width of all our pages will increase by 120 pixels- from 850 to 970 pixels.

We're getting a teensy bit wider!

We're getting a teensy bit wider!

One of the reasons we’re making this change is to accomodate premium, high-impact ads that typically have high CPMs (which means more income for you as a writer).  You will first be able to see an example of these  ads in the plumbing category when the Clogs to Coins contest starts.

Another reason why we’re implementing this change is we’re going to be giving Hubs, profile pages, and some other aesthetic aspects of the site some design updates.  We’ll be sharing some of the preliminary designs for these updates to get your feedback next week, so keep an eye out for them!

I’m really excited about the changes we’re making. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

  1. Hi Simone!
All the heads in HubPages are always up!! As a old Hubber, I really enjoy all the changes whatever you make, since you plan everything well in advance and always one-up in the market. As usual, we are excited about this welcoming change (increasing the width–which will definitely result). Keep up the good work.

  2. I am excited to see the new and improved pages. Now I must get busy writing so you have lots of Hubs for the showplace. Thanks so much. Hyphenbird

  3. One of the things I like so much about HubPages are the continued improvements. Here’s another good one!
    Thanks

  4. Ooh! Sounds exciting! I can’t wait to see the changes. I have a dinky little monitor from like 2003 so hopefully it looks good with my resolution. That said, it’s always nice to see a fresh, new look! Can’t wait!

  5. Sounds exciting!!!! I can’t wait either!!! For some reason, when I read the title initially, I read world wide – I thought to myself, “OH MY – more languages at HP?” and then read above.

    COOL! 🙂

  6. Thus proving that whoever said, “size doesn’t matter”, got it wrong.

“Bigger is better” has always rung my chimes…

Seriously Simone, this is a big step forward. (Sorry, couldn’t help myself 🙂

  7. Innovation is always good and so will be the changes to the personal domain happening later this month. Good work. Have always enjoyed using Hub Pages. I have about 20 Hubs so far and looking forward to 20 more over the coming 12 months.
